I ordered online 4 trees, however when they arrived they were little more than sticks with roots! They did not have any branches on them at all. My question is how long does it take for tree branches to grow on fruit trees? How long will those branches take to grow fruit or be able to hold fruit? These are trees that are potted out on the patio.Did I just waste my money?

Patience, Grasshopper!

Most fruit tress are deciduous. That means they go to sleep in the Winter and then begin to grow as the air temperature begins to warm up in Spring. Your trees will begin to sprout new growth in the Spring. Most fruit trees begin to produce fruit after they are about 3 years old.

yes, often when you purchase plants arriving through the mail they show up small. depending on what kind of trees these are it could take several years to produce good fruit. it should take at least a year to produce branches.

•loose-status fruit timber or bush timber, alongside with those grown in an orchard should be pruned at the same time as they are dormant, in wintry climate. •experienced timber, alongside with espaliers, cordons, pyramids and followers should be pruned in overdue August or early September
