want to do, I need to take it out. Do you think someone would want to buy a used flag pole, and how much do you think I could get for it? I thought if someone wanted it and would take it out themselves or have someone take it out, I wouldn't ask much for it, and might even give it away. But I have never priced a flag pole and wouldn't know where to start. So, what would you do?

I want a flag pole in my yard! Depending on how tall it is, they can be a bear to take out--there's usually at least 4 ft. in the ground. You could landscape around it and make it a focal point. I think flag poles are cool and you see them less and less these days.

You might seriously consider making it a focal point as others have suggested.

My hubby took a flag pole out of the ground and because of the concrete and the length of the pole, it took him 3 times longer than he thought it would.

Not only was it set in concrete, there were metal braces on top of the concrete that had to be dug out. Not a pretty picture and not much fun either.

Between the two of us we finally got it out but what a pain in the a**.

Good Luck!

Why can't you just work the landscaping around it. Taking into consideration it is a regular size flagpole..do you know how they set up a flagpole....? It's with concrete baby.. you have a ton of concrete under the ground more than likely so you will have to dig a big hole to get it out. then have to put all the dirt back. if you don't mind all that. dig it up yourself and give it to the VA or something..otherwise, someone will probably charge YOU to have them dig it up.

Dig it up and find a veteran you know or one your friends know and offer to give it to them and install it.
