In general, how much could it cost to cut down a yard of pine trees?

We have about 8-10 pine trees in the very back part of our yard (about 50 feet from the house). They are somewhere around 100+ feet tall. A couple are exceptionally wide with a lot of huge branches extending farther than the other trees.

Our back yard is pretty big (about 100 feet wide and 150 feet long) for a big city residential property. However, a really big claw truck or dump truck wouldn't be able to get past our back yard driveway. The gates open, but there is only about 6-7 feet of clearance.

How much realistically would these cost to get cut down in bulk?

It's going to depend on how much shopping around you do for the best price. Around my area about as cheap as I can get is $300 per tree and I've had quotes of $500 per tree. If I want the stumps removed it's extra.

Start calling around and compare prices. Most will give you an estimate over the phone but be aware that estimates are not always the final price.

If they are dangerous, they may have to be taken down a piece at a time. We had many big firs close to the house, a faller climbed the tree and took it off in sections. We shared the expense with a neighbour, but approximately 1000 for the few trees we had taken out. We planted replacements in another section of the property.

You'll have to have tree guys come and give bids on that big of a project. Will be in the thousands no doubt with that height and the issue with getting the timber out of the yard.

Why cut those down?! They may be over 100 years old, and they can live to be 600 years old. One tree provides oxygen for around 4 people, eliminates literal tons of air pollution, provides wildlife shelter, regulates air temperature and humidity, eliminates erosion, recycles water. It would be a shame to cut them down.
