Can I add a drip system on the same valve as my yard sprinklers?

I have 4 zones on my irrigation system. There are a few spots after replacing all the heads and adding new sod that I dont need those sprinkler heads, and would like to add a drip line for flowers and shrubs on the same valve as the sprinklers for the new sod are on. Is there a way to convert the drip line so I can run the drip line and sprinklers at the same time or will the drip line explode because there is to much pressure coming out of the 1/2 and 1/4 in lines

I do it all the time. I'll add a 1/4 inch drip line to potted plants on decks from an existing 1" valve line in the ground. Never had a blow out.
