The water from your swamp cooler is afterflow (after it is washed over the matting upon which your fan blows which ultimately cools your home). It can contain bacteria, algae, calcite and other detritus distilled from whatever flows out of your tap water. While I would not want to drink it, dogs drink water from ponds, toilets, sewer drains and pools, and other places I would not drink and they don't seem to be the worse for wear. If they drink from the drip infrequently, it should not do any harm, but a source of fresh water is always the best choice.

It's basically just got the funky stuff it pulls and filters from the air. I have a window unit AC that drips like crazy. I use a bucket to catch the water and pour it on my plants. They grow like crazy. The water is a bit dirty looking, but nothing too dangerous. Dogs have fantastic immune systems, especially mutts. So, poisonous? No. A bit scruffy? Yeah. But they drink from puddles and toilets, lol.

It could have bacteria in it just from sitting around, but a dog's immune system is heartier than ours so it's probably fine.

Finnegan is right, but a dog will always go for the fresher water, they do have heightened taste buds. =^-^=
