I bought my mom a rose in a box...it was one rose without the stem in a clear plastic box...can open it? it says only not to refrigerate, put in sun or moisture....

so can you open the box? or will it mess it up? it is supposed to last up to months if you follow those rules....

The Rose will not last for months, the clear box is just for show. It should be in some sort of water container. You can take it out or leave it. If it is a Mother's Day gift, you should keep it as is or it won't even last until then! When you give it to your Mom, have her cut the stem on an angle under cold running water. You can then add sugar or an aspirin, this will preserve for a little while longer. Hope this helps!

It's yours. It's dead. It's temporarily preserved. You can open the box or not. You won't do any harm to it that hasn't already been done.
