Do these propane patio heaters I've been seeing for $200 and less work well?
How about table top gas models?
Infrared?

Hi There,
The best performing outdoor heaters are indeed generally the stand-up propane patio heaters. And the models you find under $200 are perfectly adequate for residential use. Once you're above that price point, you'll start getting into commercial models, which are great for regular frequent use, but probably overkill for home patio needs.
Again, for stand up propane models, look for a heater in the 40,000 BTU range--it'll heat up to a 15 foot circle to a reasonable degree.
Nothing wrong with tabletop heaters, but they're not quite as powerful and do tend to cost about the same as stand-up models. Personally, I find them to be a bit of a distraction in the middle of the table.
The big selling point of infrared patio heaters is that they run on household electricity and cost only about 10% of the amount propane heaters cost to operate. This might be true, but they also produce substantially less heat for what it's worth...
Hope this helps!

you need to describe them. i know that the best heaters are the ones that are about 7ft tall...skinny, you see them at bars and patio nightclubs in the north. don't know where u live or how big your patio/deck is, but get a good sized one, not too sure if yur local hardware store carries them.
