palm trees do not need a lot of water they like to be misted often to keep the humidity at a high level you did not specify what type of palm you have but if your plant is leaning to the side you need to feel the trunk or stem to see if it is soft or mushy this is a sign of rot from too much water you need to cut your brown leaves off at a diagonal cut this will encourage it to grow new leaves brown leaves are a sign of incorrect watering pattern a water meter might help they are sold at local garden centers but you need to develop a healthy watering pattern some plants do not need to be watered on a weekly basis this depends on the house conditions for now cut the brown leaves check the stem for rot maybe you need more soil to hold it up you can place a stick in the soil to give it support most important stop over watering and start misting with a warm water sprayer place in the sun palms are tropical i wish you good luck be patient if you do right it will do right by you

Keeping in mind the time of year, you're watering too much. Winter is not the active growing season for palms so they don't need fertilizer and should be left to dry out much more than spring and summer. I doubt if you can save it but you might try re-potting it in a clean pot and new soil making sure to rinse the roots off well before potting. Make sure the pot has drainage holes. You have to look at what mother nature does during the cycle of seasons when caring for some plants. Even if a plant is kept indoors it still has a cycle of growing and resting, blooming and shedding. Good luck!

Over watering can cause leaves to turn brown. Pull off the brown leaves, then add Job's fertilizer spikes to the dirt. If you have a fair amount of standing water in the base of your planter, eliminate it. I bought a "soil tester" at Wal*Mart, that resembles a meat thermometer, & when sticking it into the soil, the window at the top, lets you know if it's time to water. If it is, water only until the soil is dampened. It's worth it's weight in gold. Good luck!!!

It may be too late. They don't need much water. Let it sit. If the leaves stay brown...time for a new tree@

It is due to over watering. Please check the bottom of the bottom. I think the water is accumulated below.
