I've used used: Olivia's, Clonex, and Root-tone and found they're basically the same. I do prefer the liquid over powder however. Right now I have Clonex which works great.

hormones aren't that special honey is actually a better option it is antibacterial and is a sugar which stimulates the plants into producing roots. brands are what matters its the strength of the product that is what counts there are 3 types soft, medium and hard woods ( current, last season and last years growth) if I do get rooting solution (powder or gel) I always get the 1 for hardwood as it has a higher strength is just more expensive. florists also use glucose or sugar dissolved in water to prolong the cut flowers life.

I have only used them on tomato plants but I don't anymore, I just put the cutting in water and let mother nature do its thing. Rooting Hormone didn't really speed up the process for me, I think they are a waste of money to be honest but that is only my opinion.
