They need to be in full sun. What happens if they aren't in full sun all the time or only 80% of the day?

fairly large pot for red peppers. with tomatoes, depends on type of tomato: some are shorter and bushy, most very tall plants. Both need wide root system. With both 80% sun is just fine. You can find info in "old farmers almanac" and I believe it is accessible online. Have fun.

80 percent sunlight will work for both.
I use gallon pots for peppers and 2 gallon for tomatoes. I really think bigger would be better for tomatoes. The peppers don't seem to care.
Good Luck

you need a five gallon pail or bucket. maybe something like an old empty paint bucket (the big white ones). i think that they sell plastic five gallon as well in a home depot or lowes. as far as sun 80% should be enough if you don't give them enough sun they will still grow but not as big
