all evergreens loose leaves allyear round just not all at once.alot of pines or conifers even change colours.if you look on the trunk or more advanced branches and see fraece you may have a borer problem.increasing the vigour of your tree is the best way to treat borer as they are difficult to treat with chemicals.keep an eye on the spread of the dying pine needles.if branches are starting to die you might have canker.but if it comes back healthy in the warmer months then enjoy your tree

Evergreen is a classification of trees that stay green all year. A Pine is a type of evergreen (typically long needles). A spruce is a short-needled evergreen, and is also a good Christmas tree. There are many types of Pine or Spruce trees, as well.

I live in the mountains of California-along with a zillion Ponderosa Pines; and yes, there is a portion of the needles that turn brown. In the first good rain along with a little wind--they're all over the ground. Soon new growth will come out on the tips of each branch. Natural process.

Did you mean to say, needles? Pine needles on the outer rims and especially bottom side of tree branches get brown and fall this time of year. It is normal. If you see the top part of needles are brown, the tree is not getting enough water, and it is not normal.

Do you mean leaves falling into the trees or leaves growing? If you mean leaves growing, I would say there would be some kind of problem as I used to have pine trees in my yard back home and I never had that happen. I would have them looked at.
