Do you mean that the plants have sprouted, grown up a few inches, then topple over and die? If that's the case it's usually due to damping off which is caused by virus's. One proven remedy is to make sure the plants are well ventilated so the virus doesn't have a damp environment in which it can take hold on the plant. Damping off occurs quickly. Over a period of a few hours, virus's can invade the stems of small tender plants and kill them.

i think texas tends to be too hot or maybe you have some bugs or worms that are inside of the watermelon that is killing the watermelons from the inside. I suggest that watermelons grow better outside.

best to grow then in a greenhouse and then plant them outside in early summer when all danger of frost has gone....or keep them in the greenhouse.they will need light

to bring them on( near a window sill) if possible and water regulary....

you may have watered them too much



or they may need a littlt fertilizer but not too much



and yes they grow better out side when the weather premits
